Christmas Treelot

The El Segundo Scout House Association annual Christmas treelot provides the bulk of our funding to support the building maintenance, our annual Scout and Adult volunteer registration, the Boy's Life magazine for every Scout, a chunk of cash to pay for our belt loops, pins, Webelos Activity pins, Pinewood derby kits etc.

To support that, we ask every family to volunteer to work 4 shifts over the holiday season. Women 'usually' do sales, and lots of Dads do stand/carry (mounting the fresh trees) or local delivery.

TREELOT JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Sales:

Help customers choose trees, ring up sale in cash register, arrange for delivery.  Keep treelot organized and tidy.  Price trees.  Water trees daily.

NEW PILOT PROGRAM FOR 2010
A Boy Scout (does not apply to Cub Scouts) may fill one “Sales” shift per season, and only when accompanied by a parent or guardian working the same “Sales” shift, to fill two - 4 hour shifts for the Boy Scout/parent team.  Boy Scout must be in Class A full uniform, and it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to supervise the Boy Scout at all times during shift. One Boy Scout/parent team maximum will be allowed per “Sales” shift.  To sign up a Boy Scout/parent team, fill in the Boy Scout’s name as volunteer for one shift, and the parent’s name as volunteer for the second shift.

Cub Scouts may accompany parent or guardian for “Sales” shift only, in Class A uniforms, with no additional family shift credit allowed.  Parents use your discretion regarding the Cub’s maturity level in making your decision to bring your child along, also noting the evening shift ends at 9:30pm.  Parent or guardian is responsible for supervising Cub Scout at all times during the shift.
